WARM UP
Introduction:

Story telling:
The teachers perform the story “Where is Rex” by Paul Shipton using puppets.
Materials: Puppets.
Macro skills: Listening.
Kind of interaction: Whole group.

Grouping:
The teachers give the students a flashcard with a part of a dialogue. The
students will have to find their partners. Once they find their partners, they
will group with those with the same phrases so as to make four big groups.
Materials: Flashcards.
Macro skills: Speaking.
Kind of interaction: In groups.
Time: 3 minutes.
Activity
2:

The
teachers will give each group a die with sentences such as: “Rex is under
Dippy”; “Rex is on the rocks”. Each group will throw the die once, and will
have to draw in a paper the sentence they got in luck. They will repeat the
same process three or four times.
Materials: Dice and papers.
Macro skills: Reading.
Kind of interaction: In groups.
Time: 8 minutes.

Then
they will show their drawings to the class and the rest of the class will have
to guess which sentence they represented.
Materials: Papers.

Game: The
teachers will place some images on the board so as to play a memory game. Each
group will choose 2 cards so as to find the coincidences.
Materials: Blackboard and pictures.

Time: 8 minutes.

After
8 or 9 coincidences, the students will have to use the words that will come out
from the game (Rex, Plants, Woods, etc) and produce some short sentences
(guided by the teachers).
Materials: Pictures.

Kind of interaction: In groups.
Time: 6 minutes.
